About the Site
This site is here for a couple of reasons. I’ve always enjoyed writing, I’ve always wanted a place to be able to share my interests with friends and family, and I’ve always wanted to be able to share my musical diversions in one place. Now I don’t claim to be a world class musician of any sort, certainly not a vocalist, and I don’t claim to be the next Charles Krauthammer as a writer. But here it is, as it is, take it or leave it. Given that, I hope you find some amusement and enjoyment in it. I invite anyone interested to create a user account and contribute posts or leave comments.
Beyond that, my father passed at age 45. And like him at the time, I have two young boys. So as I quickly approach that same age, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I wouldn’t give to have known my father better as I became a man myself. I knew him as my father of course, and he was a good father, but what was really on his mind? What was he like when he was just with his friends? We got to see small glimpses, but he left us before my brother and I really got to know him as men, as somewhat equals, when he was done kicking our tails and turning us into men in our own right. So this is somewhat my attempt at that for my own sons. It will become my repository of anything and everything, things I’m proud of, and if I find the courage, those things that I am not proud of. Life is short, and the unexpected comes often too quickly. So really, all of this is for them, for later, hopefully much later.
About Me
I grew up in West Memphis, AR and attended St. Michaels Catholic School thru the 8th grade. We moved to Memphis, TN after that and I attended and graduated from White Station High School in 1988. After that, I played football at and attended Jones Co. Jr College in Ellisville, MS.
From there I moved to Vicksburg, MS, then back to Memphis when my father became ill, and finally settled in Chattanooga, TN.
I feel I’ve led 46 different lives, been an athlete, a professional musician, been through a few career paths, been the host of a long running radio show, and have finally settled into a wonderful position with a wonderful company with friends I truly love and respect.
